HALO JATENG- The inaugural flight of the aircraft with the route A Yanin Airport, Semarang City – Dewadaru Karimunjawa Airport, Jepara Regency, was officially opened starting Friday, July 4, 2025.
This momentum is not just an ordinary flight, but the beginning of easy access to one of Central Java’s leading tourist destinations in the Java Sea.
The inaugural flight by the Susi Air airline was officially launched by the founder of Susi Air, Susi Pudjiastuti, the Governor of Central Java Ahmad Luthfi, the Deputy Regent of Jepara M Ibnu Hajar and various other elements.
In addition to the Semarang – Karimunjawa route, there is also Yogya-Karimunjawa, each route is a round trip (PP).
One of the Salatiga City residents, Elia Tri Retnaningsih, admitted that she was happy to be able to take part in the inaugural flight.
“It’s really amazing, to be able to enjoy and feel this flight,” she said when met at Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang.

Elia admitted that he was lucky, because the first flight was carried out at the same time as the school holidays.
“Never been to Karimunjawa, while it’s a holiday, we went there with our family. I’m very happy. Hopefully with this flight, it will be more crowded, smoother, and better,” he said.
Of the same opinion, a resident of Wonosobo Regency, Widi Yulianto admitted that he felt the same happiness. Together with his family members, he was willing to leave at 4 am, in order to be able to fly to Karimunjawa.
“The destination is Karimunjawa until Sunday, one family of eight people. This is the first time to go to Karimunjawa by plane,” he said.
Widi admitted that he saw the information about this inaugural flight while surfing the internet search engine. As soon as he saw it, he immediately booked a flight ticket with Susi Air.
“I saw the news on YouTube and on Google that there was a flight from Susi Air on July 4. I wanted to find the latest sensation. If I take a ship, I’m afraid of the waves,” he said.
Susi Air founder, Susi Pudjiastuti stated that she is ready to support connectivity of the outermost islands in Central Java. Not only that, Susi is also ready to support flights at pioneer airports in the Central Java region.
“Hopefully Susi Air can continue to open up isolation of the outermost regions. Not only outside the island, but also inside the island. Moreover, access to Karimunjawa was previously only by ship,” she said.
With a travel time of less than one hour using Susi Air’s pioneer aircraft, this air route is expected to be a solution to the limited access to Karimunjawa, which has so far relied more on sea routes with a travel time of 4-5 hours.
Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi hopes that this flight will have a positive impact on the future of air connectivity in the Karimunjawa region.
“This is a momentum to grow the economy, be it tourism, investment or other community activities,” said Ahmad Luthfi.
Meanwhile, Jepara Deputy Regent Ibnu Hajar hopes that this air access will not only make it easier for tourists, but also open up new opportunities for economic activity in Karimunjawa.
The Jepara Regency Government itself has and continues to make various efforts so that the echo of Karimunjawa is more echoed both nationally and internationally. One of the efforts is by holding a sport tourism event such as the Beachtrail Run in Karimunjawa which will be held next October.
“Hopefully Karimunjawa will be more vibrant, a multi-flyer effect will emerge which will ultimately boost the regional economy and the welfare of the people,” he said. (*)
