Patrick Kluivert Admires the Enthusiasm of Garuda Team Supporters, Promise to qualify Indonesia for the 2026 World Cup

HALO JEPARA- Patrick Kluivert admires the enthusiasm of Garuda Team Supporters. The former Barcelona star promise to qualify Indonesia for the 2026 World Cup.

Patrick Kluivert promised to give his best with the Indonesian National Team.

Patrick Kluivert was officially introduced to the public through a press conference at the Mulia Hotel, Jakarta, Sunday (12/1). He started with thanks and promised to give his best.

“I am very grateful to have this opportunity. I will give my best to achieve the target. All the players are on the same path. We will get through it. That’s what I can promise,” said Indonesian National Team Coach.

Kluivert also shared his new experience of meeting fanatical supporters of the Indonesian National Team when he arrived at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang. As reported by CNN Indonesia.

“When we arrived at the airport, everything went smoothly at first. But when we got to the exit, people came rushing towards us.”

“I like the spirit seen in the video, it is the spirit of Indonesia and I am happy to be able to channel my spirit and philosophy there,” said Kluivert.

The Dutch tactician agreed to a two-year contract plus a two-year extension option.

Kluivert will be accompanied by assistant coaches Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat who also come from the Netherlands. Apart from that, there will be two Indonesian coaches who will also be involved as assistants.

He will lead the Garuda squad in the 2026 World Cup Qualifications. Closest, the Indonesian national team will play two matches in the third qualifying round against Australia (20 March) and Bahrain (25 March).

Currently the Indonesian National Team is in third place in Group C with six points. There is still a chance to qualify directly by finishing in second place considering the very narrow distance in points. Now in second place is Australia with seven points. (*)
